Welcome to Famewala. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our mobile application. By registering via OTP and using our services, you agree to the terms outlined here.
2. Information We Collect
- Registration Data: Mobile number, OTP verification details, and your chosen account password.
- Profile Information: Name, Profile Photo, and Bio.
- Safety & Reporting Data: When you use the **User Report** or **Content Report** feature, we collect details of the report to investigate violations of our community guidelines.
- Financial Data: Bank account details and KYC documents (PAN/Aadhaar) for processing wallet-to-bank transfers.
- User Generated Content (UGC): Images and videos you upload to the platform.
- Social Interaction Data: We track your **Likes, Dislikes, and Follower/Following** lists to personalize your content feed and improve user experience.
3. Dynamic Branding & Media Usage (Special Disclosure)
Famewala offers a unique branding service. By uploading content, you acknowledge and agree that:
- If a Paid User downloads your content, their Profile Picture and Name will be overlaid on the media.
- If an Unpaid User downloads content, the Famewala watermark will be applied.
- Your content is shareable and downloadable by other users as part of the platform's core social functionality.
4. Wallet & Rewards System
Our "Coin Wallet" tracks your earned rewards. Data related to your wallet transactions is stored securely. To prevent fraud and comply with Indian Tax Laws:
- Withdrawals to bank accounts require valid bank details.
- KYC verification is mandatory for transactions exceeding the limit set by RBI/Government guidelines.
5. Data Sharing & Disclosure
We do not sell your personal data to third parties. However, we share information in the following circumstances:
- Public Platform Sharing: As a social media app, your profile name and photo are shared with other users when they download your content via our Dynamic Branding feature.
- Banking & Payment Partners: To process your wallet-to-bank transfers, essential financial data is shared with RBI-regulated banking partners and PCI-compliant payment gateways.
- Service Providers: We share limited data with trusted third-party providers for OTP services, cloud storage, and analytics to improve app performance.
- Legal Compliance: We may disclose data if required by law, court order, or government authority (under IT Act 2000) for fraud prevention or security purposes.
6. Data Processing & Security
Your data is encrypted using SSL technology. Passwords are stored in a hashed format, meaning we cannot see your actual password. Social interactions (following) are processed to personalize your feed.
7. Data Retention & Deletion
We store your data as long as your account is active.
Account Deletion: You can request to delete your account. Upon request, your profile and personal data will be removed within 30 days, except for data we are legally required to keep (like financial transaction logs).
9. Your Rights under DPDPA 2023
- Right to Access: Know what data we hold about you.
- Right to Correction: Update your profile or bank details anytime.
- Right to Withdraw Consent: You can stop using the app and withdraw consent for data processing.
